BAKE-AT-HOME SEEDY CRACKERS

These bake-at-home crackers are jam packed with a mix of nuts and seeds giving them them a winning nutritional profile - High in Fibre, antioxidants and your good omega 3 fats. 

Flaxseeds offer a soluble fibre boost, chia seeds give plant-based friendly omega 3’s and the almond meal and sunflower seeds provide an impressive vitamin E hit. The perfect snack in our books for reducing inflammation and keeping your gut healthy and happy.


Recipe: Serves 12

Ingredients:

½ cup pumpkin seeds (also called pepitas)

½ cup chia seeds

½ cup sesame seeds 

½ cup flaxseed (sometimes called linseeds)

½ cup sunflower seeds

½ cup almond meal

2 cups water

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees fan-forced.

  2. Mix all ingredients together and leave for 10-15 minutes for the seeds to soak up the water. 

  3. Give everything a good stir, then split the mixture over two lined baking trays and spread with a spatula until about 5mm thin.

  4. Bake for 20 minutes. Carefully turn and bake for a further 10 minutes until dry and crisp. 

  5. Remove from the oven, allow to cool, then break into irregular shards. Store in an airtight container.
